Schacht bobbin, assembled

3D printed bobbin to fit the Schacht spinning wheel.

The tube is a transparent acrylic tube with an outer diameter of 16 mm. The hole in the ends of the roll is 8 mm in diameter. There is no hole in the tube, it is perfectly smooth, but if the surface feels slippery, you can sand it down with sandpaper.

The ends of the roll are 78 mm and the length of the roll is about 15 cm.

 

The Schacht bobbin comes in two different pattern options, either a 6-point star or an 18-point reel.

The colour tones may look slightly different, depending on the screen.

 

The bobbin is easy to assemble by pressing the ends of the bobbin onto the ends of the tube. The ends fit snugly into the pipe, and there is no need to glue it. If you wish, you can glue the bobbin, using ordinary instant glue.

Do not use fishing line or metallic string with 3D printed bobbins, they will wear out the plastic. Use cotton string instead.

Material PLA plastic. PLA softens at temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius. PLA is an environmentally friendly plastic made mainly from plant-based materials such as corn.
